The latest tragedy to hit the schooling system saw the death of three teachers from Riverlea High School in the south of Johannesburg in a car crash.

Lesufi, who visited two of the three teachers' families in Meyerton and Kempton Park on Thursday, says the loss has been emotionally devastating on the school, its pupils and the department.

"We just felt that let's come and bow our heads in front of the families and strengthen them," he said while expressing the hope that he won't have to attend any more funerals in the near future.

"To lose three of our educators is a difficult call, we have to manage our learners, we have to manage our teachers."

The three deceased teachers have been named as 33-year-old Thulani Sibiya, Nompumelelo Madlala (27) and 26-year-old Ntshosho Zwane.

Zwane's uncle Eric Maseko says the family is shocked by his passing and still have many unanswered questions.

"But we will not crucify God for his death, but we ask that he helps us accept what has happened. God gave him life, and God took his life."
