The son of Defence and Military Veterans Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, who was stabbed to death, will be buried on Saturday 7 November.
Chumani Nqakula, 23, was fatally stabbed at the weekend in Bezuidenhout Valley, Johannesburg.
On Monday, Carlos Higuera, 24, appeared briefly in the Johanneburg Magistrate’s Court in connection with Chumani’s murder.
Higuera was remanded in custody.
On Tuesday Ambassador Charles Nqakula and his wife Mapisa-Nqakula and their entire family said in a statement that they “would like to express their deep sense of appreciation for the support and solidarity they have received and continue to receive from the various sectors of society across the length and breadth of the county as well as abroad”.
“This valued support and solidarity continues to give strength and comfort to the family at this hour of pain, sorrow and need,” the family said.
Chumani will be laid to rest at Westpark Cemetery.
