Delay in reporting Meyiwa shooting ‘may have compromised crime scene’
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The forensic expert who was first to arrive at the Senzo Meyiwa murder scene has admitted the delay in reporting the events of that night might have compromised the crime scene.

Mosia was back on the stand in the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday, where he continued to be cross-examined by the defence.
He told the court the murder scene was only reported four hours after the fatal shooting.
“The incident of the murder scene was reported four hours later, and the crime scene address was not yet known at the time it was reported to me. Instead, I was told to go to hospital. All the delays before reporting the matter to the relevant role-players might have compromised the murder scene.”
The trial against five men accused of the murder of the late football star continues.
Muzi Sibiya, Bongani Ntazi, Mthobisi Mncube, Mthokozisi Maphisa and Fisokuhle Ntuli have been charged with pre-meditated murder.
They also face charges of attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm and armed robbery.
Advocate Malesela Teffo, who represents accused one to four, said the defence would bring a witness to confirm that Meyiwa was already dead at the time he was taken to hospital.
“We will have a witness Mr Mosia to testify that when he was certified dead at 21:15 it was not that he arrived at hospital alive. He was just confirmed officially by the medical practitioner that he is cold from outside.”
#SenzoMeyiwa Mosia maintains that he does not have a change of mind over the possibility that the 2014 crime scene was contaminated.
