Digital Vibes exposed ‘unexpected wrongdoing’ in Health Department, says analyst

Political analyst Levy Ndou says the Digital Vibes tender scandal has exposed some unexpected wrongdoing in the Department of Health.
The scathing 144-page report was released on Wednesday morning by President Cyril Ramaphosa and directly implicates former health minister Zweli Mkhize.
“For me it has actually exposed a number of wrongdoings that most people never expected to take place in the department of health," says Ndou.
“I think it clearly spells out what has been going on relating to the Digital Vibes issue. To be very specific the report has been able to identify people that were involved in the wrongdoing. The minister and his family, certain senior officials like the DG and some other officials within the department.”
Ndou also believes that issues raised in the report points to the need for criminal prosecution.
“If these issues are only dealt with politically and the law enforcement agencies do nothing, we’ll not be able to win the fight against corruption in South Africa because those that are implicated would still be moving around freely and enjoying their lives having made thousands of people suffer because of their actions.”
