Discussions underway on payment of Zuma's R400k medical bill
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
The Department of Correctional Services has received a medical bill of R398 000 for the treatment of former president Jacob Zuma.

The former president was admitted to hospital early last month for a routine medical checkup but ended undergoing a surgical procedure.
He has since been placed on medical parole.
The department confirmed on Wednesday the former president is still in hospital and therefore the bill is likely to increase.
It is not clear who exactly is responsible for footing the bill. Correctional Service spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo said the costs are under discussion.
"We have never said DCS is paying for medical costs as the issue is being discussed considering the Presidential privileges that Mr Zuma enjoys.”
Zuma is serving a 15-month sentence for being in contempt of the Constitutional Court which ordered him to appear before the Zondo commission.
His corruption trial in the Pietermaritzburg High Court is due to be postponed on Thursday due to his health.
Last month, his foundation tweeted asking for donations to assist with his mounting legal fees.
