The South African Weather Service says a break in the recent heatwave will be accompanied by scattered showers and thunderstorms over the northeastern provinces.

The weather service has issued a Yellow Level 4 warning for severe thunderstorms and potential flooding in eastern North West and Gauteng for Tuesday afternoon.
Forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela said there is also a possibility of hail and localised flooding.
“Strong and damaging winds are expected in Gauteng, the eastern part of the North West and extreme south-western parts of Limpopo for Tuesday late in the afternoon.
“Thundershowers are expected to continue throughout the week in the central provinces covering the central parts of the Free State province all the way to the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, as well as the North West stretching to the extreme northern parts of the Eastern Cape province for the next two days.”
