Manqele, 26, is accused of murdering her lover Hip Hop artist Nkululeko ‘ Flabba ‘ Habedi.

Answering a question from Manqele’s lawyer, Norman Makhubela, Sipho Lukhozi stated that he was a qualified medical practitioner with a qualification in clinical forensic medicine.

Lukhozi told the court that his first consultation with Manqele was on 11 March at the Johannesburg prison.

He said that an application had to be made before he was granted permission to use the facility to examine Manqele.

Makhubela asked Lukhozi why he had to see her for a second consultation.

“Often there can be evolution as they heal or resolve so reevaluating in needed,” Lukhozi said.

Lukhozi said Manqele complained about being in pain before he did his examination.

“She had pain in the right heel, thigh and right shoulder,” Lukhozi said.

Lukhozi said he started by examining the way she was walking.

“She was limping.”

Lukhozi said she had tenderness in the mouth as well as a bruise on her chest, and she had tender shoulders as well as wounds that she had on her stomach.

“One finger tip bruise around the wrist and two finger tip bruises on the left bicep,” Lukhozi said.

Lukhozi stated that she had a self-inflicted wound from a sharp object on her wrist and her right heel was bruised and very tender as well as bruising on her right calf.

Manqele insists she stabbed her boyfriend in self-defense. Hadebe was fatally stabbed in the early hours at his home in Alexandra, Johannesburg.
