‘Don't change your numbers’, says winner of bizarre Powerball draw
Updated | By Gaopalelwe Phalaetsile
One of the 20 people who won last week Tuesday's Powerball draw says he has been playing the same sequence for over a decade.
The winning sequence, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and Powerball number 10 were criticised, with some saying the draw was rigged.
He has won R5.7 million
"Be patient and don't change numbers, I always spent R45 for power and I don't change numbers," said the man.
He does not want to be named for his safety.
He says the first thing he will do with his winnings is to buy a house for his family.
The man also says he has not told his family or friends that he is one of the winners and will keep it that way.
"I fear for my kids, maybe they might abduct them and demand a ransom, so I want to keep it a secret."
Busiswe Msizi from the National Lottery says only 12 of the 20 winners have come forward.
She said all the winners will receive trauma counseling and financial advice.
