It might not be a Monday but it sure is blue. These are some of today's dreadful reminders.

An 11c petrol price hike is set to kick on Wednesday at midnight, mainly due to the weakening rand against the dollar.

The Automobile Association (AA) says it will continue to monitor other impacting factors.

"We've seen the rand has devalued against the US dollar over the past couple of days as well. It's something we will be monitoring as we look for a forecast towards the middle of August going into September," says AA's Layton Beard.

There as at leasts some relief for diesel customers as the price goes down by 13c a litre.

The City of Tshwane has urged residents to use water sparingly as the city faces a delay in water restoration in some parts of Laudium and Atteridgeville.

According to the city's spokesperson, Lindela Mashigo, water supply was expected to be restored not later than 12h00 on Tuesday, but the build-up of the reservoir level is taking longer than expected.

"We managed to eventually restore to parts of those two suburbs and we will continue to restore gradually over time in other affected areas," says Mashigo.

Other affected areas include Lotus Gardens, Saulsville and Christoburg.

Mashigo also assured residents in the Pretoria CBD experiencing power outages that power would be restored on Tuesday night.

This comes after faulty cables at the Queens Street substation disrupted supply.

"Repairs to the faulty cables are currently underway and it is anticipated to be concluded around 21H00," says Mashigo.
