Driver flees scene after plouging into pedestrians, killing three toddlers

Police are on the hunt for a suspect who fled the scene of an accident in the Salvokop area of Pretoria on Saturday afternoon.
The driver ploughed into a group of pedestrians before his vehicle hit a tree.
Three young children were killed, while six other people were injured.
"On arrival at the scene, a BMW sedan which left the roadway, was found crashed into a partially collapsed tree," says Tshwane emergency services spokesperson, Charles Mabaso.
"Multiple patients were scattered around the scene.
"Three female children - twin four-year-old sisters and another four-year-old girl - were declared dead at the scene by emergency services.
"Two female patients, of which one is nine-months pregnant injured, were transported to Steve Biko hospital with moderate to serious injuries.
"Four other female patients were also hospitalised with minor to moderate injuries.
Mabaso says the driver could not be found at the scene and the matter has now been handed over to the South African Police Services (SAPS) for further investigation.
