A man seen spinning the wheels of his BMW in a viral video has been arrested.
In the video the man, who is driving a blue BMW M3, is involved in wheel spinning on the N3 near Linksfield.
The incident took place last week Thursday.
Gauteng Traffic Police spokesperson Sello Maremane says they eventually managed to trace the owner of the vehicle.
The 26-year-old man was arrested on Monday.
“Gauteng Traffic Police conducted a covert operation to determine who the vehicle belongs to and his place of residence.
“Investigations revealed that the vehicle belong to an owner who resides in Edenvale, upon interacting with the owner he admitted that his son was driving the vehicle recklessly on a public road on the day in question.
“The suspect was then arrested and taken to Edenvale police station to face charges of reckless and negligent driving as well as drag racing on a public road,” says Maremane.
