Driver stabbed after crashing into pedestrians

The incident occurred on Friday night in Kwhashange, Pietermaritzburg.
The driver of a bakkie has allegedly been stabbed to death after he ploughed into a group of pedestrians killing six people.
Emergency services were called out to the scene and found the man's body inside the bakkie.
"Six pedestrians were killed and seven others were left with various injuries when a vehicle collided with them on Edendale Road," says ER24's Werner Vermaak.
The injuries of those who survived the incident ranged from moderate to serious.
They were treated on scene and taken to hospital.
The exact cause and circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, but police were on scene to investigate.
