Drunk Gauteng cop arrested in Limpopo

A drunk Gauteng police officer has been arrested after he was found with his service pistol in a state vehicle in Ga-Masemola over the weekend.

The 36-year-old sergeant, who is based at the Alexandra police station, took the car from the gender-based violence unit and travelled to Limpopo without the necessary authorisation.
The local police in Ga-Masemola found the officer in the company of a woman.
"Preliminary investigations revealed that the member utilised the station's vehicle without authority to travel to another province, a case of using a motor vehicle without the owner's consent as well as a departmental case has been opened against the member for further investigations,” said police spokesperson Dimakatso Sello.
