The Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry says it's fully behind Nomusa Dube-Ncube being KZN's new premier.
Dube-Ncube was on Monday announced as the nominee for to top job following Sihle Zikalala's resignation on Friday.
The provincial legislature is expected to confirm her appointment at a special sitting on Wednesday.
The chamber says it's worked with her when she was the MEC for Economic Development and recently in her capacity as head of the KZN Treasury.
It's described her as an active and responsive leader who is dedicated, hard-working and results-driven.
The Inkatha Freedom Party says KZN's new premier must be tough on corruption.
IFP chief whip in the legislature Blessed Gwala says they also welcome her being the province's first female premier for the province.
"We'll appreciate it if it is a woman who has the capacity to run the province. It must be somebody who has the capacity to run the province."
