The crash resulted in the deaths of Phumzile Dube and Nanki Mashaba, with Dube passing away on the scene, while Mashaba died in hospital weeks later.

The state withdrew the one count of culpable homicide relating to Mashaba because it was found that her death was due to a pre-existing condition.

The court heard evidence about the safety of the car and the damaged done to Duduzane’s Porsche.
