Durban storm: Bodies of two children found in Isipingo
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
Search and rescue officials have recovered the bodies of two young siblings who were washed away near Isipingo, south of Durban during Tuesday's storm.
Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says they are still searching for the girls' mother.
"Our search and rescue team have recovered two more bodies at the Isipingo area. The first one is an 18-month-old female who was found at the Isipingo canal. A few minutes later, a 3-year-old victim was found."
Zwane says the storm has so far claimed at least 13 lives.
The figure could increase as at least five other people are still missing.
The heavy downpours saw homes, businesses and roads flooded.
The worst affected areas included Durban and areas south of the city.
