Springbok player Aphiwe Dyantyi has been charged with a doping offence after testing positive for multiple anabolic steroids and metabolites.
The South African Institute for Drug Free Sport (SAIDS) confirmed on Friday that Dyantyi’s B-sample has tested positive for banned substances.
Dyanti was provisionally suspended after he tested positive for a then undisclosed prohibited substance during a drug test on 2 July following a Springbok training camp.
Dyantyi denied the taking any banned substance and requested a B sample be tested.

SAIDS says Dyantyi’s B-sample was tested at the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) accredited laboratory at the University of the Free State.
The test backed the results of the A-sample contained metandienone, methyltestosterone and LGD-4033 - which are banned.
Dyanti has the decision of either accepting the charge and submitting a plea for a reduced sanction or contesting the charge before an independent tribunal panel.
Should Dyantyi contest a hearing will be set down within the next four weeks, and he will be required to provide evidence that can prove his innocence.
