Health Department: Easing of restrictions under review
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The Department of Health has made recommendations to the National Coronavirus Command Council to review lockdown restrictions with the possibility of easing regulations to level 1.
This comes as the number of Covid-19 infections in the country has drastically decreased over the past few weeks.
In a report, Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says the easing of restrictions has been considered regarding the sale of alcohol, religious gatherings, travel and the curfew.
In the meantime, Mkhize has warned that the risk of contracting the virus remains high.
