Eastern Cape covered in a blanket of snow
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) says snowfall is expected to persist over the eastern part of the Eastern Cape and over the KZN Drakensburg.
A cold front moved over the country on Wednesday bringing with it a possibility of snow, heavy rain and possible localised flooding.
SAWS forecaster Venetia Phakula says snow has been falling in the high-lying areas of the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
"The snow is mainly in the northeastern high-lying areas. There are reports of snow fall over KZN in the Midlands and the Drakensburg", says Phakula.
Meanwhile, Gauteng will also see a drop in temperatures.
Joburg will only go up to 13 and Pretoria will peak at 15 degrees Celsius.
