Eastern Cape ‘drug smuggler’ tries to ship tik via Postnet

57-year-old Dirk Wismeijer appeared before the Gqeberha New Law Court on charges of dealing in drugs.
Wismeijer was arrested on Friday by the Serious Organised Crime Investigation (SOCI) team of the Hawks.
This follows after Wismeijer attempted to smuggle 12.44 grams of “tik” (Metamphetamine) worth more than R4000 to France via Postnet at The Acres near Green Acres Shopping Centre in Gqeberha.
Hawks spokesperson Yolisa Mgolodela says Wismeijer’s case was postponed to 2 June for appointment of legal representative.
“Wismeijer was appeared in Gqeberha New Law Court the very same day and he was released on R5000 bail. His passport was also seized.”
