An Eastern Cape police officer is due to appear in court for allegedly shooting and killing a pastor and two churchgoers in Centane.
The altercation occurred last Wednesday when the suspect found a church being built on land he claimed was given to him by a local headman.
Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) spokesperson Ndileka Cola says the suspect later fatally shot the man who leased the piece of land to him.
"He allegedly shot dead the pastor and other church member whilst the other person who was in the scene survived.
"After that, the officer allegedly went to the home of the headman, confronted and fatally shot him as well."
