Education department keeping an eye on Tshwane
Updated | By MornéJK
The Department of Education in Gauteng was keeping a watchful eye on the situation in Tshwane and appealed to community members not to prevent learners from going to school.

This amid the ongoing violent protests in the Tshwane area that broke out earlier this week.
The Department appealed to communities, where widespread looting and violence took place, to consider the future of their children.
"We are very concerned of the destruction of property, especially schools," Departmental spokesperson, Oupa Bodibe told Jacaranda FM News.
Bodibe added that schools in the affected areas are on high alert and would alert the South African Police Service of any suspicious behaviour.
"Our patrollers are out there, monitoring the situation at school," Bodibe added.
He also said that no incidents of violence against learners of teachers have been reported.
