EFF claims Ramaphosa ‘sent spies’ to party’s Youth Day rally

EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu has accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of sending “spies” in an attempt to disrupt the party’s Youth Day rally.
In a statement release on Friday, the EFF claims State Security officials were deployed at their Youth Day rally in Thohoyandou.
"Ramaphosa spies tried to disrupt EFF rally in Thohoyandou yesterday by distributing illegal t-shirts and money to EFF ground forces,” Shivambu claimed.
“We caught the spies and unlike Ramaphosa, we called in the police. He will never destabilize the EFF & this provocation gives us energy to fight."
Shivambu believes the deployment of State Security was as a result of the party’s vocal campaign to hold Ramaphosa accountable over the Phala Phala theft scandal.
“It is shameful to try and use state machinery to try and intimidate an organisation that is holding the establishment accountable. We will now follow the police case closely. South Africa cannot descend into a gangster-militia state – and nothing can stop us discussing Ramaphosa’ crimes.”
