The EFF celebrated its historic milestone at FNB Stadium in Soweto.

The 95 000-capacity stadium was filled beyond capacity, forcing secretary-general Marshall Dlamini to ask stadium management to open the gates for more supporters to be allowed onto the pitch.

An overflow field was also set up outside the stadium to allow supporters to follow proceedings.

In his address, Malema praised the red berets for building the country's third biggest political party within the space of a decade.

"They said our organisation was formed out of anger and would never last. The EFF is here, the EFF will always be here. It is not going anywhere. They are witnessing history today.

"Today, I look at them walking in the stadium. What a walk of shame. You disappointed them, you made sure that they swallow a bitter pill.

"We will show them today that EFF is the only party that will fill FNB beyond its capacity.

"The only time the FNB was like this was when we were buried (slain SACP leader) Chris Hani.

"The baby that was born in 2013 is now 10 years old," said Malema.

At the same time Malema acknowledged that it has not been plain sailing for the EFF.

"Comrades, we cannot say it was easy.

'We had 'stuff riders' who thought they would kill our organisation but those 'stuff riders' did not succeed.

"The EFF is still standing. We have also defeated the scandal that we are bought by London.

"No leader of the EFF is arrested for VBS. They wanted to use the VBS to destroy the EFF, once more, they failed.

"They wanted to cause fights in the EFF, they never won, and they will never win," he said.

"The EFF leader said the party is already building towards the future, with the general elections laying in wait next year.

"I am going to need sunglasses because the future is so bright. And when we take over, we are going to give you free education, fight corruption and lock up corrupt ANC leaders.

"Me and you are going to destroy load shedding. Only the EFF can stop load shedding. When we take over, all the informal settlements will be formalised and given water and electricity.

"Hammanskraal must get clean water.

"When we take over, we will restore the dignity of our people."
