The Economic Freedom Fighters
(EFF) plans to lay bribery charges against Johannesburg housing MMC Dan Bovu.
EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi says Bovu has allegedly been calling EFF Councillors offering them up to five hundred thousand rand in exchange for their vote in the Johannesburg council on Monday.
“We condemn his actions and the
ANC must accept defeat as it has failed to change the lives of the people of
Johannesburg”.
Ndlozi added the EFF will ensure the ANC is out of power during the council meeting on Monday.
ANC Johannesburg spokesperson Jolidee Matongo denied the accusations by the EFF saying the ANC does not engage in bribery.
“The democratic process will take place tomorrow in the council and we will accept the outcomes” he says
Matongo added Bovu is out of the province dealing with personal matters.
