EFF questions state capture commission's credibility
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) intents on calling the
leading investigator in the state capture inquiry to testify in the inquiry.
The EFF was addressing the media at the party's headquarters in Braamfontein, Johannesburg on Thursday.
EFF leader Julius Malema says the party will send a letter to Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo to express their dissatisfaction over Terrence Nombembe as the head of investigations for the commission.
"I have a huge doubt on the commission... they are going to do the same thing as the Marikana commission and the Seriti commission on the arms deal," says Malema.
The parties dissatisfaction with Nombembe cames after allegations that the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) received money from Trillian Capital - a Gupta-linked company implicated in state capture.
Nombembe is the CEO of SAICA.
SAICA received a R1.2 million donation from Trillian, however, the accountant's institute later returned the money when the Gupta scandal broke out.

Malema believes that SAICA is captured and therefore cannot investigate itself.
"The CEO of SAICA is captured, yet he is going to investigate the state capture," says Malema.
Furthermore, Malema argues Zondo should have known about Nombembe's link to the controversial Gupta family.
The party intents on calling Nombembe to testify at the commission.
"Nombembe must go answer to the commission. How is Nombembe going to answer to the commission, when he is the investigator himself?"

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, where Nombembe was announced as the chief investigator, Zondo could not give a definite date when the commission will start with hearings.
