EFF leader Julius Malema says the party will approach the Constitutional Court to force Parliament to discipline President Jacob Zuma.

Malema says there has to be repercussions for President Zuma and his violation of the constitution.

"It can't be business as usual. We want the court to compel Speaker Baleka Mbete to take disciplinary action, because the court said to Parliament they failed as well when they were supposed to protect the office of the Public Protector and make sure the president complied to the remedial action of the Public Protector. Parliament did not do that. We want Parliament to be compelled by the court to institute an impeachment or disciplinary action," says Malema.

Malema says President Zuma has to account to Parliament and explain why he lied to the National Assembly about the existence of a bond for his Nkandla home.

Malema also says they will not be debating President Zuma's State of the Nation Address.

"Have we given up and surrendered our freedom to politicians? They must do as they wish, because we as citizens are powerless. South Africans will have to take a step," says Malema.
