Ekurhuleni metro police officers took to the streets in their official vehicles on Tuesday morning to protest against several labour-related issues at the department.
The officials were expected to hand over a memorandum of demands to the office of Ekurhuleni Mayor Mzwandile Masina.

Metro police spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng says the officers, driving in official vehicles, formed a convoy.
"We have noticed marked motor vehicles by EMPD on the R24, N3 and N12 freeways and apparently those officers are making a convoy on their way to the Germiston Civic Centre.
"Just remember that some Ekhuruleni Metro Police Department officers are affliated to different trade unions. They are expected to hand over a memorandum of demands today."
Mokheseng says he is not aware of the contents of the memorandum.
"It is not clear what the document entails but delegated union representatives will be on site for more information."
