Electoral Commission to announce objections on candidate lists
Updated | By Bulletin
The Independent Electoral Commission will announce the status of political party and independent candidate lists for the May 29th general elections.
The cut-off for objections was Wednesday.
After reviewing the objections, the commission will announce its decision, including the eligibility of former president Jacob Zuma’s backed party, uMkhonto we Sizwe party.
The commission’s chairperson Mosotho Moepya says such a person can be objected to, persons below 18 years, not registered to vote, and not South African.
"If a person is nominated has failed to submit a prescribed acceptance of the nomination such a person will not qualify to stand in the election."
