Eskom spokesperson Sikonathiu Mantshantsha says the debt-ridden utility has been granted summons which will allow it to also collect the rest of the debt.
"Eskom obtained a judgment from the High Court in South Gauteng to collect R615 million in unpaid electricity revenue from the Emfuleni Local Municipality. So the sheriff of the court is at the building of the municipality right now.
"They are collecting moveable properties. We have issued more summons to collect the rest of the money."
