Eskom denied allegations that close door 'golden handshake' exit negotiations for Koko are taking place.

Business Day Live reports that officials at the electricity producer are close to a separation agreement.

According to the article the only decision left is an agreement on financial compensation.

Eskom's Khulu Phasiwe rejected the claims.

Phasiwe says Koko is settling back in at Eskom after returning from suspension.

Koko was suspended after Eskom's dealings with his step-daughters' company, Impulse International, came to light.

A disciplinary hearing cleared him of any wrongdoing.

Impulse was awarded at least R1 billion in contracts from the power utility.

"Mr. Koko had been suspended previously. He was reinstated into his old position. But because there was someone else acting in his position before, the decision was taken that, the person that is acting Mr. Willy Majola, will continue until the end of this month. Mr Koko will officially take over in terms of the agreement which he has with the acting CEO that he will start from the 1st of February," says Phasiwe.
