Updated | By Neo Motloung
Eskom has denied claims that will retrench some of its
workers.

This comes after media reports that the cash-strapped power utility plans to lay off more 15 000 employees.
Eskom's Khulu Phasiwe, says the issue of retrenchments has not been put on the table.
"The current issue that is reoccupying the board and the Eskom is the resolution of the wage issues.”
Phasiwe is confident by Friday, Eskom and the unions would reach an agreement.
The three unions, Solidarity, the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) and the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) are demanding a 9% wage increase for 2018, 8.6% increase for the second year and 8.5% increase for 2020.
While the power utility is offering 5% wage increase for 2018.
