Eskom's Khulu Phasiwe confirmed that no power cuts were enforced at 6.00am today - as originally planned.
"Two municipalities in Mpumalanga, Emalahleni and Msukaligwa, one municipality in North West which is Naledi, two municipalities in the Free State and three municipalities in the Northern Cape," says Phasiwe.
Phasiwe, however, warns that this is the last time and come 7 February, power will be cut.
"We are doing these municipalities a favour by not interrupting their supply. The law allows us to disconnect their power supply meaning no power supply at all. If they exhaust our patience and our reasonableness, then it means at some point we will not only interrupt their power supply, but cut it completely," says Phasiwe.
