Eskom ramps up load shedding to stage 4
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Eskom announced a move to stage 4 load shedding on Tuesday morning.
The power utility implemented stage 2 load shedding the whole of last week after some generation units failed to return to service.
These include units at the Matla, Tutuka, Duvha, and Arnot power stations.
The struggling power utility says stage 4 was necessary after Majuba Unit 5 and Tutuka Unit 4 tripped.
The last bout of load shedding comes amid warnings that South Africans should prepare themselves for a dark and difficult winter.
The power utility is expected to brief the media at 10am on Tuesday.
