Eskom: No loadshedding for second consecutive day

Eskom has announced that there will be no load shedding on Thursday for the second consecutive day.

This comes after stage 1 loadshedding was implemented on Monday and Tuesday.

The embattled power utility says several units have returned and emergency reserves are at adequate levels.
"Our power system has improved with breakages under 9 500 megawatts."
However, Eskom spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshanthsa still maintains the warning that load shedding can be implemented at short notice if there is a change in the system's performance.
"We continue to urge customers to suppress demand and help us get through this stage."
