Eskom: No loadshedding for September, October
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
State-owned power utility, Eskom, says there are no planned
power cuts for September and October.
This comes after the Democratic Alliance (DA) spokesperson, Natasha Mazzone, had said the party wrote to the utility's Chairperson, Jabu Mabuza, asking for clarification on the matter.
"Eskom communicated its summer plan on the 4th of September 2019 at a media briefing held at Megawatt Park, where we indicated that no loadshedding is expected over summer," the power utility says in a statement.
However, Eskom adds the risk remains as the system is still tight and vulnerable while more maintenance is planned during the summer months.
The power utility says Mabuza is open to discussing possible loadshedding details with Mazzone.
