Eskom set to appear in court over air pollution
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Eskom has been summoned to appear in the Witbank Regional Court over misleading information it allegedly provided to a government air quality officer.

This is in connecting to exceeding emission limits at it's Kendal coal-fired power plant.
The state power-utility is accused of breaching its Atmospheric Emission License (AEL) conditions.
Eskom's spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha has confirmed that power is summoned to appear in court on 28 January.
“Eskom is charged with exceeding the emissions limit on air pollutants as specified in its atmospheric emissions license, failure to comply with conditions or requirements of the atmospheric emissions license and false with supplying false or misleading information to the air quality officer.
"The matter is now sub judice and Eskom will be guided by the court processes.
"It will therefore not be in a position to comment any further on this matter," says Mantshantsha.
