Eskom set to shed more executives
Updated | By Pieter van der Merwe
Two executives have parted ways with the power utility this week alone with more resignations on the cards.
Following the resignations of two executives this week, more suspended officials could part ways with Eskom amid an overhaul by the new board.
Former CFO Anoj Singh - who was grilled by lawmakers this week - was the first to cut ties with Eskom.
He was followed by the acting head of group capital Prish Govender.
"There are certain individuals who have been on suspension, that management is now handling their matters," the power utility's Khulu Phasiwe told Jacaranda FM News.
Phasiwe says "one or two people" could already have resigned. This could be confirmed as early as Friday.
Earlier this week, Eskom said its newly appointed board is embarking on a cleaning spree, asking those implicated in corruption to tender their resignations.
The board has meanwhile been given a directive by government to urgently fill the posts of CEO and CFO within the next three months.
"So I'm sure in due course we will be seeing the adverts going out," says Phasiwe.
