Eskom: Stage 3 load shedding from Sunday afternoon
Updated | By Princess Mahogo
Eskom will implement stage 3 load shedding from 4pm on Sunday until 5am on Monday.
Thereafter stage 1 load shedding will be implemented from 5am until 4pm on Monday.
Stage 4 will return on Monday from 4pm until 5am on Tuesday morning.
The pattern will continue from Tuesday until Thursday.
Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena said over the past 24 hours, a generating unit at Camden and Duvha power stations was returned to service.
“In the same period, a generating unit at Medupi Power Station was taken offline for repairs.
“Breakdowns are currently at 15 050MW of generating capacity while the generating capacity out of service for planned maintenance is 4 434MW”.
“The delay in returning to service two generating units each at Kendal and Tutuka power stations is contributing to the current capacity constraints”.
