Eskom suspends load shedding until Friday
Updated | By Princess Mahogo
The festive season is in full swing and got an extra boost from Eskom with the announcement that load shedding will be suspended until 4pm on Friday.
This comes after the embattled power utility suspended daytime load shedding over the long weekend.
Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena attributes this to consistent improvement in available generating capacity.
“Eskom will closely monitor the power system and communicate should any significant changes occur.”
“The evening peak demand forecast is 23 471MW. Unplanned outages are currently at 12 158MW and planned maintenance is 8 728MW of generation capacity.”
