Eskom vows to keep light on during SONA
Updated | By Nondumiso Dube
Eskom says the national grid is stable for now and unless there are unforeseen power trips - there's no need to implement load shedding.
Stage 2 of the scheduled power cuts was rolled out on Monday night.
Meanwhile Eskom COO Jan Oberholzer says there would be no disruptions to tomorrow's State of the Nation Address in Cape Town.
This year’s SONA will be held at the City Hall after a fire gutted parts of the National Assembly last month.
"We will do everything in our power to ensure that we don't have load shedding.
This is not limited to Thursday which is an important event, when the president will address the nation.
"We are aiming to reduce the risk of load shedding in general, that is what the focus is. To ensure that we maintain the plant, and that we have skilled human capital."
