European stock markets steady at open

Europe's main stock markets steadied at the start of trading on Friday, with London's FTSE 100 benchmark index down 0.09 percent to 6,633.97 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 fell 0.1 percent to 9,500.55 points, and in Paris the CAC 40 index rose 0.14 percent to stand at 4,361.37 compared with Thursday's closing level.
European stock markets had ended in the red on Thursday, following Wall Street lower on disappointing economic indicators on both sides of the Atlantic.
Asian indices mirrored the trend by sliding to lower finishes on Friday. -AFP
