Everlate Chauke laid to rest
Updated | By Maryke Vermaak
Family members of the three-year-old Everlate Chauke, who drowned during November's flash floods on the banks of the Jukskei river, is burying her this morning.
Chauke was swept from her father's arms in Alexandra, when the Jukskei flooded as a result of heavy down poors.
The search for the little girl's body lasted two weeks, before she was found in Buccleuch.
Members of the community, friends as well as family gathered at the Gift of the Giver's house in Alexandra, where a tent has been erected to allow them to say their final farewell.
