Ex-wife in court for murder of Gqeberha doctor
The ex-wife of a Gqeberha doctor has appeared in court in connection with her former husband’s murder.
Nothukela Noqekwa and two alleged accomplices were arrested in connection with the murder of Dr Bantu Noqekwa, who was gunned down in his surgery in Zwide in May.
Noqekwa (46) appeared in the New Brighton Magistrate’s Court on Thursday following her arrest in Cape Town.
The case against was postponed to 15 June, while the two other suspects are expected to appear in court on Friday.
Dr. Noqekwa was gunned down by four suspects in May.
Eastern Cape Community Safety MEC Xolile Nqatha has welcomed Noqekwa’s arrest and warned those still on the run that their days were numbered.
He also noted that the arrests were proof of what could be achieved if communities worked with the police.
