Family of Keamohetswe Seboko suspects foul play in drowning

The family of a 13-year-old pupil says they suspect possible foul play after the boy drowned and died at a hostel swimming pool.

The body of Keamohetswe Seboko, who attended school at Laerskool Bekker in Magaliesburg, was found floating in the school's swimming pool last week Wednesday.
This is the second drowning that has claimed the life of a pupil in Gauteng in less a week after another 13-year old Parktown Boys’ High pupil Enoch Mpianza drowned during a school outing at the Crocodile River in Brits.
Seboko's aunt, Kgothatso Stayi said on Sunday that the family believes that there was foul play involved in the teen’s death.

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi ,who visited the Seboko family on Sunday, says the family also believes he was being bullied.
"The family feels there may be an element of bullying as well. So we've asked the district to conduct an audit on bullying so that we can understand the challenges that bullying might bring to the learners," said Lesufi.
A preliminary investigation into the drowning of the young learner is being conducted by the department.
