Updated | By Maidi Monareng
The family of slain police officer, Puleng Kekana, has described him as a quiet and respectful man.
Kekana was killed while on duty trying to arrest a business robbery suspect in the early hours of Tuesday.
Kekana lived with his mother at Mamogashoa in Zebediela. His sister, Tiisetso Kekana - who is in the South African defence force - said her brother was a determined officer.
"For me he was a strong guy. I always looked up to him growing up...to protect me," she said.
She said his death would not stop her from serving the country, despite the dangers.
"We are living by the code of conduct...he died doing exactly that."
Limpopo Acting Police Commissioner, Nonhlanhla Zulu conveyed her condolences to the family on Tuesday.
Kekana will be laid to rest on Sunday.
