Father of Joburg ‘serial killer’ to continue testimony

The murder trial of multiple murder and rape accused Sifiso Mkhwanazi resumes on Monday with Mkhwanazi’s father back on the stand.

Last week, Palm Ridge High Court ruled that the confession the accused made to his father just days after 6 bodies were found is admissible as evidence following a trial-within-a-trial.
Mark Khumalo told the court his son admitted to killing six sex workers in Joburg, nearly 2-years-ago.
In the main the state seeks to prove Sifiso Mkhwanazi raped the women and planned their murders, a charge he has pleaded not guilty to.
He however admits he killed them.
Mkhwanazi’s father Mark Khumalo detailed the gruesome discovery of the decomposed bodies at his place of business and his son’s confession just days after his arrest.
The defense is expected to resume its cross examination of Khumalo.
“I told him, tell me what happened. He said Daddy, I did it,” Khumalo told the court.
“He said he was making a revenge because of the previous allegation that he did raped but according to him, he didn’t.”
