#FeesMustFall: ANC calls for return to the negotiating table
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The ANC on Thursday said it condemns calls for ungovernability and anarchy in the 'Fees Must Fall' protests gripping the country's universities.

Students from several universities continued with their protests this week, resulting in violent clashes with police.
The ruling party expressed concern over the ongoing protests.
"While the ANC-led government remains committed to ensuring equitable access to education and free education for the poor, we condemn in the harshest possible terms the continuing attempts to disrupt classes and what remains of the academic year at various campuses," it said.

According to the ANC, the arrests of several individuals, who are not students, are a clear indication that these protests have been hijacked by sinister opportunistic elements.
"The ANC calls on all stakeholders to return to the negotiation table, where in good faith, a collective resolution to the current impasse can be found. Violence and anarchy, including calls for ungovernability, must be rejected condemned by all those in our society with a genuine interest in functional institutions of learning that contribute effectively to our country's long term development."
