FF Plus warns government on e-tolls
Updated | By Lonwabo Miso

FF Plus MP Anton Alberts said people felt betrayed by the government and that this, coupled with other issues, could result in unrest.
He said Gauteng residents were unhappy about a number of issues, including recent water shortages.
"E-tolls can blow up in our faces," Alberts told the Gauteng e-toll advisory panel at the provincial legislature.
He said people had revolted against their governments n Egypt and Tunisia as a result of similar instances.
"The tolls are a recipe for disaster," he said.
Gauteng premier David Makhura established the panel on July 17 to assess the social and economic impact of the Gauteng Freeway
Improvement Project and the electronic tolling system set up to fund it.
The panel is expected to present its findings to Makhura at the end of November.
