Cape Town is bracing itself for a day of protest, pomp and ceremony. The Mother City is shrouded in security like never before around parliament, where President Jacob Zuma will be delivering his State of the Nation Address (SONA) this evening.

The Cape Town CBD is on lockdown. Several streets have been closed off.

There is a massive police presence in and around the parliamentary precinct.
People are also expected at the Grand Parade where ANC supported will gather from this afternoon.
It is also where President Jacob Zuma is expected to make an appearance.
